We're two friends who always knew we would start a business together and as dog lovers, it was no surprise that our inspiration came from a Shiba Inu named Beagley.
Even at an early age, Beags enjoyed being everywhere we were. He loved going on road trips, visiting friends and family, even coming into the office. From couches and cushy chairs to pillows and other dog's beds (often to the owner's displeasure), Beags was always on the hunt for the most comfortable place to relax.
We soon realized that our answer came in the form of a portable dog bed. We also found that what we were looking for wasn't out there. The bed had to be comfortable, stylish, made with quality fabrics, machine washable, easy to carry and could perform well outdoors. So when we couldn't find this, we decided to create something ourselves. Hence the Barkie Traveler was born... and Beagley found his soft spot to lay.
